About This Track

'The Game' by Code Orange is a 2023 metal track from the album 'The Above'. The lyrics feel predatory and claustrophobic, with a narrator casting themselves as an “artificer” and a pathogen that pulls at invisible strings, while someone else is reduced to a detached observer. There is a recurring sense of attraction turning sour, a craving that curdles into disgust, and a game that is created only to be refused.
