About This Track
Corbin's 'Mourn' is a portrait of psychological collapse, built on repetition and restraint. The track circles obsessively around a single admission: instability, the loss of breath and composure. What begins as a plea for accountability ("Call me out, it's all I ask") spirals into something darker, a catalogue of dispossession and self-erasure. The production, spare and claustrophobic, lets the voice dominate; there is nowhere to hide. The song dwells in the space between crisis and numbness. Corbin adopts the voice of someone unraveling, reaching for comfort that has already been withdrawn, asking to be broken down further as though punishment might restore some equilibrium. The outro strips away even that pretence, reducing the lyric to a mantra of denial: "No, I ain't so stable", repeated until the words lose their meaning and become pure sound. It is a record of someone watching themselves come apart.
