Close

If I close my eyes
Say "we're good" a thousand times
Maybe it'll change how I feel
It's midnight when I park
But I stay in the car
The second that I leave, it gets real
Cause when I get home and walk through that door
It's not like before
Whoever we were is not who we are
Every day, we're oceans apart
Maybe we're not made forever
Maybe I don't get to grow older with you
This house is keeping us together
We're so close, but I've never felt further from you
Oooh, ooh
I've never felt further from you
You tried talking me into couples therapy
How'd you say that with a straight face?
Yeah, it's easy not to leave or face reality
That sometimes even good things can break
Cause when I get home and walk through that door
It's not like before
Whoever we were is not who we are
Every day, we're oceans apart
Maybe we're not made forever
Maybe I don't get to grow older with you
This house is keeping us together
We're so close, but I've never felt further from you
And it's killing me, but underneath we both know that it's over
One day, this'll be a memory
This house is just a place we used to call home
You'll live your better days without me
Grow old and you'll make friends I don't even know
Aaah, oooh
But we'll remember when we used to be close
