Lyrics
* Window A/C, satellite dishes, tan roofs. I'm at a cafe in San Jose, Costa Rica called Borlila. The coffee is good, 1979 is on the radio. I shouldn't be jetlagged but I am or life-lagged. Earlier today feels like yesterday. Yesterday feels like it didn't happen. Tonight feels like tomorrow. It's hard to explain. I feel displaced but comfortable. We woke up early today and set out for the volcano and I can't imagine a better quick tour of the country. My favorite way to see things, just kind of as they are, driving through neighborhoods. Passing through people's lives without them knowing. At one point a man approached our window. Our guide told Summers to put his camera away - that we were in a bad part of town but it looked like most real places look. People shopping in small markets, a family outside refinishing a cabinet. A teenager trying to get his pick up running. A little further out into the hills we were lined by rows of bright blue hydrangeas. I thought of the bunches drying out in the basement for our wedding.
