About This Track

'SIMPLE' by DE'WAYNE is a 2022 rock track from the album 'My Favorite Blue Jeans'. In the lyrics, the singer presents himself as a “simple kind of man”, insisting he does not want handouts and describing a kind of restless, dozy rotation of thoughts. The chorus also suggests a warning about catching someone off guard, while the verse leans into a refusal of staying around, expressed in a blunt, clipped exchange of wants and boundaries.

"SIMPLE" is a track by DE'WAYNE, from the album My Favorite Blue Jeans, released 5th October 2022. It's filed under Rock. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about DE'WAYNE.

DE'WAYNE

Lyrics

SIMPLE

[Chorus: DE'WAYNE]

I'm just a simple kind of man now

I don't want no handouts

Catch you with your pants down

Na, na, na

Every day when I wake up again now

My head's in the can now

Spinning 'til I pass out

Na, na, na

[Verse 1: DE'WAYNE]

You say you want no one to stay

You wanna be alone

In a real big home

You won't return the calls that are coming through your phone

You wanna do drugs and do them all alone

No, I won't fight it, to me, it's so exciting

I'll put a movie on and enjoy it while I'm crying

[Pre-Chorus: DE'WAYNE]

This is what I want

This is what I want, want

This is what I want

This is what I want

[Chorus: DE'WAYNE]

I'm just a simple kind of man now

I don't want no handouts

Catch you with your pants down

Na, na, na

Every day when I wake up again now

My head's in the can now

Spinning 'til I pass out

Na, na, na

[Verse 2: Dallon Weekes]

Hey, baby, it's a showbiz town

You've got your name on a playbill

And every single person wants you now

But tomorrow's a landfill

[Pre-Chorus: DE'WAYNE]

This is what I want

This is what I want, want

This is what I want

This is what I want

[Chorus: DE'WAYNE & Dallon Weekes]

I'm just a simple kind of man now

I don't want no handouts

Catch you with your pants down

Na, na, na

Every day when I wake up again now

My head's in the can now

Spinning 'til I pass out

Na, na, na

I'm just a simple kind of man now

I don't want no handouts

Catch you with your pants down

Na, na, na

Evеry day when I wake up again now

My head's in thе can

I'm spinning 'til I pass out

Na, na, na

[Outro: DE'WAYNE & Dallon Weekes]

I'm just a simple kind of man

A simple, a simple kind of man

And I want your hand out again

A simple, a simple kind of man
