Insomnia

[Intro]

Argh!

[Verse 1]

I feel like a zombie, slumber's beyond me

Nights get longer, long as Luke Longley

Smallest sounds like a Kombi van

Backfiring, was a comedy camera hiding up in this

Nightmare, nah, wish it was a nightmare (Yeah)

Then at least I'd be asleep in my bed

My eyes bright red, feel like death by bed

Weighed down, 'cause my head's like lead

Like Ned Kelly, belly up, nothin' stop me gettin' up

From weed paraphernalia or takin' valium

I tried it, every herbal remedy, diet

Readin' and writin', nothin' makes me tired

My mind racin', sleep deprivation

The only one awake playin' the waiting game

Facin' the sun in an hour

Everyone seems to be sound asleep

[Chorus]

Insomnia, I can't eat

Feelin' the heat, can't sleep, sleep

Insomnia, it's just me

And the sounds of police on the street, street

Insomnia, I can't eat

Feelin' the heat, can't sleep, sleep

Insomnia, no retreat

'Cause I never thought it'd happen to me, me

[Verse 2]

Feel like I'm in a parallel, paranoid paradise

Every word on repeat like a parrot's life

Every beat in my head starts to paralyse

Fahrenheit risin', feedin' the parasites

Like a satellite, analyse the world

'Cause I'm up again, antagonised by every gust of wind

Must have been a comatose in my last life

Now I lie awake like puffin' on a glass pipe

Can't hide, I tried to count sheep

Count three-thousand-and-thirty-three, man, please

I need my Zs, I'm tossin' and turnin'

Determined to kill Tyler Durden and beat the

Insomnia

Insomnia

[Interlude: Olivia Newton-John]

"Strands of light on our bedroom floor—

Strands of light on our bedroom floor"

[Verse 3]

I'm locked on nocturnal

Can't watch the clock or stop the time turning

Nothing that the doctor concocts is working

Only the warlock can drop the curse on this earthling

The worst thing, I work in three hours

Can only scream like a werewolf howlin'

Overpowered by moonlight, soon light

My crew like, "Yeah, sucks to be you, right?"

Too right, yeah, sucks to be me, friend

It's monotony like tryna find the seas end

Deep breathin', I plead for a little sleep

Past fatigue, now I questionin' my beliefs, I can't believe it

Can't remember the last eight hour sleep I had

All this anxiety is bad

My brain won't stop

Find you're losin' track in the days when you got

[Chorus]

Insomnia, I can't eat

Feelin' the heat, can't sleep, sleep

Insomnia, it's just me

And the sounds of police on the street, street

Insomnia, I can't eat

Feelin' the heat, can't sleep, sleep

Insomnia, no retreat

'Cause I never thought it'd happen to me, me
