About This Track

'Burden' by Dream State is a 2015 rock track from the EP 'Consequences - EP'. The lyrics frame a determined, self-motivated struggle, with the narrator claiming they can push beyond fear and “face my demons” while insisting that they cannot shake their pull towards love. There is a sense of escalating resolve, culminating in repeated declarations of being unable to get enough, as the burden is treated less like something suffered and more like something resisted.

"Burden" is a track by Dream State, from the album Consequences - EP, released 20th November 2015. The track is 4:01 long. It's filed under Rock. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 17 articles about Dream State.

Lyrics

Burden

Because I can
I climb the highest mountains in life
I tried the waters and learn to fly
I face my demons, my kryptonite
I will not let this subside

'Cause I'm a sucker for your love
And I'm tryna rise above
I just can't get enough (I just can't get enough)
'Cause I'm a sucker for your lies
You're a burden of my mind
I just can't get inside
Get up, get up
Stand up, stand up

I've worked too hard to build these walls
Shut up, shut up
Enough's enough
Don't break my heart, I will lose it all

We saw the limits and trapped the night
Shifting awareness with endless sight
I've bent myself and opened up wounds
And I gave my all to you

'Cause I'm a sucker for your love
And I'm tryna rise above
I just can't get enough
'Cause I'm a sucker for your lies
You're a burden of my mind
I just can't get inside
Get up, get up
Stand up, stand up (stand up)

I've worked too hard to build these walls
Shut up, shut up
Enough's, enough (stand up)
Stop breaking my heart, I will lose it all

No, no, no, and let it fall
Let me go and lose it all
No, no, no, and let it fall
Let it fall, let it fall

Break this hold
I can't let you go
I sold my soul
To this floor

(We built these walls)

So we can rise above
When the ashes fall
We were meant for love
We can have it all

Get up, get up
Stand up, stand up (stand up)

I've worked too hard to build these walls
Shut up, shut up
Enough's, enough (stand up)
Stop breaking my heart, I will lose it all

No, no, no, and let it fall
Let me go to lose it all
No, no, no, don't let me fall
Don't let me fall
Don't let me fall
