About This Track

‘Relentless’ by Dream State is a 2015 rock song from the EP ‘Consequences - EP’. The lyrics cast a bitter, cyclical relationship of manipulation and reversal, with the speaker describing being pulled in, pushed out, and left with nothing, as the other person is portrayed as trapped by their own control, sinking deeper until they watch the outcome turn against them. The mood is accusatory and exhausted, landing on the sense that the other party is still acting under compulsion, even after everything they had is gone, as in the line “You pulled me in to push me out”.
