About This Track

'Remember' by Elmiene is an R&B/Soul track from the EP 'Marking My Time - EP', released in 2023. The lyrics plead for love and healing, repeatedly framing the speaker’s heart as something that needs to be purified, with a refrain built around God as a goal and a remedy. There is an urgent, devotional pressure to the words, as if the singer is asking to be remade, to bleed away impurity, and to regain clear sight, underlined by the repeated invocation “Oh my God”.

"Remember" is a track by Elmiene, from the album Marking My Time - EP, released 19th October 2023. The track is 3:55 long. It's filed under R&B/Soul. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 3 articles about Elmiene.

Lyrics

Remember

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God
Put your love, put your fear in my heart
Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God
Put your love, put your fear in my heart

Help me bleed more
'Til my heart's pure
Help me see God
'Til my sight's cured
Help me bleed more
'Til my heart's pure
Let me see God
'Til my sight's cured, oh

Lose me so I can remember
Curse me so I can recenter
Just get me out of this system
Haunt me so I can surrender

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God
Put your love, put your fear in my heart
Oh my God, oh my Lord, let me try
Put your love, put your fear in my heart

'Til my sight's cured
Help me bleed more
'Til my heart's pure
Let me see God
'Til my sight's cured

Ah-ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah
Ah, ah-ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah-ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah

Douse me, just leave me an ember
New shelter, how men were
Remind me, it's you who dismembers
Condemn me, condemn her

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God
Put your love, put your fear in my heart
Oh my God, oh my Lord, let me try
Put your love, put your fear in my heart

Let me bleed more
'Til my heart's pure
Help me see God
'Til my sight's cured
Help me bleed more
'Til my heart's pure
Let me see God
'Til my sight's cured

But it's all the same
We'll love easy
Oh-oh, oh, oh, oh
