About This Track

'Orbit' by flipturn is an alternative track from the album 'Shadowglow', released in 2022. The lyrics look back on a long wait for something better, with a speaker questioning whether they should return home. Death appears as a deceptive guide, and the song leans into self-doubt and momentum, repeating the urge to keep walking. A final line asks, “Am I biased, too involved”, as the narrator weighs their own investment in the story they are living.

Lyrics

Orbit

Life I've waited for so long
And I know I should come back home
Death just lied and led me on
Told me I, I could have been someone

And I, I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking
And I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking

Am I biased, too involved?
To honestly believe if I went quiet, if I went cold
Oh, that I could still possess the love I hold
Or that I could I slow my bones from growing old

And I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking
And I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking

And I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking
And I
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking, keep walking

Keep walking
Keep walking, keep walking, keep walking
