'Dumb' by Garbage is a 1998 track from the album 'Version 2.0'. The lyrics find a speaker bristling at being judged, insisting they are not trying to play saviour, and snapping back with frustration at a partner who cannot “work it out”. There is a defensive, self-possessed stance throughout, even as the words gesture at self-containment, resentment, and the suspicion that the point has been missed. The verse structure builds from denial and irritation into a sharper pre-chorus moment, before the song continues onward.
"Dumb" is a track by Garbage, from the album Version 2.0, released 11th May 1998. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 12 articles about Garbage.
