About This Track

'Forget It' pairs Getter with Oliver Tree on a track built from repetition and restraint. The chorus cycles through a simple rejection, "you never came around", whilst the verses shift into something more confrontational: a warning to stay out of the way, delivered with the kind of measured distance that suggests the speaker has already moved on. The song sits in instrumental space as much as vocal space. Sparse arrangements leave room for the lyrics to land, and the cyclical structure of the chorus works like a mantra of dismissal, each repetition another turn of the lock.

"Forget It" is a track by Getter, from the album Radical Dude!, released 11th March 2016. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

Forget It

[Chorus]

You can just move over now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around

You can just forget it now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around

You can just move over now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around

You can just forget it now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around

[Instrumental]

[Verse]

And if you must come my way

I will put you back in place

And if you must come my way

I will put you back in place

When you're broken

Or when you're slowly breaking down

And when you're sorry

Said I'm sorry too, I'm sorry to let you down

[Instrumental]

[Chorus]

You can just move over now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around

You can just forget it now

You never came around

Never came around

Never came around
