'Progress' by Idles is an alternative track from the album 'CRAWLER', released in 2021. The lyrics move through an urgent, bodily contrast of heaviness and lightness, circling around a refusal to feel “get high”. There is a repeated sense of being pulled away and then drawn back, with the idea of coming home returning as a kind of stabiliser. The vocal phrasing stays insistent, breaking the message into fragments and quick address-like lines, so the whole song reads like a struggle to hold the self together.
"Progress" is a track by Idles, from the album CRAWLER, released 12th November 2021. The track is 3:47 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Idles.

The limited 2017 pressing was a memorial to the person Joe Talbot said shaped IDLES’ debut, extending an album written through grief into its physical form.

Four tracks that trace Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes from ‘Sticky’ guest spots to a genuinely reciprocal exchange with Jamie T.

IDLES’ fifth album narrowed its focus to romance, parenthood and gratitude, but its belief in vulnerability and collective care had been forming since 2018’s ‘Joy As An Act Of Resistance’.

Three routes beyond IDLES: Lauren Mayberry’s re-recorded duet with Joe Talbot, Laura-Mary Carter’s guest guitar spot from Lee Kiernan, and Talbot’s appearance on Peaches’ Pixel Grip remix.

A three-stop route through IDLES’ versions of Little Simz, a CBeebies favourite and a reggae standard for Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing.

A route into IDLES’ electronic, soulful and tender side, from CRAWLER’s boundary-pushing sessions to TANGK’s piano-led love songs.
