Idles are a British post-punk band formed in Bristol in 2009. The band includes Adam Devonshire on bass, Joe Talbot on vocals, Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan on guitars, and Jon Beavis on drums. They spent eight years developing their live performances before releasing their debut album, Brutalism, in 2017. Their second album, Joy as an Act of Resistance, was released in 2018. Their third album, Ultra Mono, was released in 2020 and reached number one in the UK. The band released their fourth album, Crawler, in 2021, and their fifth studio album, Tangk, in 2024, which also reached number one in the UK. In 2025, they composed the film score for Darren Aronofsky's feature film Caught Stealing.
