About This Track
'Underworld' casts Juice WRLD in the grip of a destructive romance framed through occult imagery and self-medication. The Chicago rapper adopts the voice of someone drawn to a figure he calls a soul-taker, the relationship mapped in pentagrams and heavy-metal devotion. Heartbreak becomes a literal descent: heaven one week, hell the next, the pills an empty-stomach ritual that blurs seduction and overdose. The chorus refrain locks into the paradox at the centre of the track. Juice WRLD asks why the demon girl holds him close, then admits he likes it, naming her his overdose even as the underworld becomes the space they share. The production, handled by Kirk Kneezy, leaves room for the vocal to carry the weight of that contradiction, the melodic line riding the edge between surrender and recklessness.
