Late-night intimacy frames 'Eleven', a track built around the ritual of cruising with someone who matters. Khalid sketches a scene of headlights off, windows down, the kind of half-lit vulnerability that comes when the world is asleep. The song moves between tender observation and a question that cuts to the heart of it: am I your favourite drug you've been using? It's a line that collapses care and dependency, asking whether he occupies a necessary place in someone's life or merely fills a temporary need. The production sits in that liminal space between R&B and pop, spacious enough to let the vocal breathe but locked into a groove that makes stillness feel like motion. Khalid's delivery is conversational, almost confessional, the kind of singing that works best when you're not quite looking at each other. The chorus repeats its central anxiety with a kind of resigned acceptance, as if he already knows the answer but needs to ask anyway. A remix featuring Summer Walker extended the song's reach, but the original holds its power in that solitary moment: two people in a car, the night stretching ahead, and the small, urgent question of whether this matters as much as it feels like it should.
