Here comes the end, of the future
If we're already goners
Why wait any longer
For something to crack open?
Here comes the end, I brought no offering
I lied to my confessor
I fear small children
I fear curious elders

I meant to sing the truth
But the truth didn't rhyme
You unknowable, a sly moon smile
Call me holy
Throw another poem into the fire

I could fake wise, make brave eyes
But I know nothing
