In a post to Facebook, he explains the reasoning behind their recent residency agreements - which come to London later this year - their appearance on Saturday Night Live, and their upcoming 20th anniversary.
Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Friday 11th March.
No new music was teased from the band, who last appeared on the show following the release of their last album, 2017's 'American Dream'.
