About This Track

A track from Lewis Capaldi's debut album 'Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent', 'One' addresses a previous partner through the lens of gratitude. The song adopts the voice of someone who has found love with a woman let down by another, thanking that former lover for his failures. Capaldi frames the narrative as a direct address to the man who broke her heart, the chorus built around the ironic refrain of thanks for all the mistakes and pain.
