About This Track
'Hands' stands as the album's sole traditional rap track, built on playful keys and a pitched vocal sample. Miller questions his own behaviour across the verses, cycling through confession and deflection, moving from boasts about control and conquest to admissions of regret and self-sabotage. The chorus offers a counterpoint: an invitation to step back from the spiral, to take time away from the weight of it all, to imagine flying without ground beneath you. The song finds Miller caught between two impulses. He wants to stay behind the wheel, moving at full speed, needing nothing from anyone. But he also knows he's spent his life living with regrets, that he trips over things that haven't even happened yet, that his honesty often amounts to not making sense. The tension never resolves. Instead, it just keeps turning, cause and effect, action and consequence, the same patterns repeating.
