'Gone' finds Machine Gun Kelly in introspective mode, confronting the cost of ambition on his closest relationships. The track centres on his absence from his daughter's life, framed against a backdrop of professional hunger and the need to prove himself to those who doubted him. He moves between regret and justification, caught between the drive to succeed and the knowledge that his pursuit has left damage behind. Leroy Sanchez's chorus anchors the emotional weight, its repetition pressing the question of whether anyone is actually missing him. The song extends into MGK's relationship with his own father, drawing a parallel across generations. He recalls a violin his father wanted him to play, now hearing that same instrument in the track's production, only to receive a call from his father in tears as he was writing. The specificity of these details, the five-year absence he names, the phone calls he couldn't answer, the words he couldn't speak, gives the track its sting. It's a personal favourite of his from the album, and it shows; the vulnerability here feels earned rather than performed.
