About This Track

'Temptation' by Moby is a 2005 track from the album 'Hotel'. The lyrics move through a pleading, slippery emotion, balancing hope and hurt as Heaven is set up as a hoped-for escape from betrayal. A vocal sense of urgency keeps returning, with the singer asking not to be left to land badly, even as words prove “too hard” to say. The song’s imagery suggests someone trying to keep faith while temptation and disappointment pull at the same moment.

"Temptation" is a track by Moby, from the album Hotel, released 2005. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 2 articles about Moby.

Lyrics

Temptation

[Intro]

Heaven

A gateway to hope

Just like a feeling

I need, it's no joke

[Verse 1]

And though it hurts me

To see you this way

Betrayed by words

I'd never heard

Too hard to say them

[Pre-Chorus]

Oh up, down, turn around

Please don't let me hit the ground

Tonight I think I'll walk alone

Find my soul as I go home

Up, down, turn around

Please don't let me hit the ground

Tonight I think I'll walk alone

Find my soul as I go home

[Chorus]

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

[Verse 2]

Each way I turn

I know I'll always try

To break the circle

That has been placed around me

[Verse 3]

From time to time

I find I lost

Some meaning

That was urgent

To myself

I do believe

[Pre-Chorus]

Oh up, down, turn around

Please don't let me hit the ground

Tonight I think I'll walk alone

Find my soul as I go home

Up, down, turn around

Please don't let me hit the ground

Tonight I think I'll walk alone

Find my soul as I go home

[Chorus]

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Time

[Bridge]

And I've never met anyone quite like you before

And I've never met anyone quite like you before

And I've never met anyone quite like you before

And I've never met anyone quite like you before

[Chorus]

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time

Oh it's the last time, it's the last time
