About This Track

'Buzzkill' by MOTHICA is a 2021 pop track from the album 'Forever Fifteen - EP'. The lyrics cast a self-critical, damaged narrator, repeatedly framing themselves as a “buzzkill”, a victim shaped by what someone else has done, and a presence that copes through jokes they do not quite control. There is a strained, self-protective edge to the speaker’s voice, with phrases that suggest exhaustion, unreality, and the urge to move past what hurt them, even as it keeps pulling them back. The mood is confessional, jittery, and defensive.

"Buzzkill" is a single by MOTHICA, from the album Forever Fifteen - EP, released 19th March 2021. The track is 2:20 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 3 articles about MOTHICA.

Lyrics

Buzzkill

I'm a buzzkill, I'm a broken one
I'm a victim of the things you've done
I'm a phantom, forever I was
Ever since you, ever since you

I don't talk about it
Unless I make a joke about it
That's just what you want? Huh?
That's just what you want?

Walking on the ceiling
Getting used to never feeling
You still having fun, huh?
I don't trust no one

I won't keep your secrets now
You can't keep my volume down

I'm a buzzkill, gonna kill your high
'Cause I'm pissed off, I think you'd know why
And you're scared now, 'cause receipts don't lie
Ever since you, ever since you
Fucked up, haven't made a sound
Got me upset, now I'm getting loud
Better watch me burn this whole place down
Ever since you, ever since you

Know what you did, don't let it happen again
I pray for the kid that calls you a friend
You pulled them right in, told them their sins
Holy motherfucker, do you have something to say?
'Cause this is the beginning of the price you're gonna pay

I won't keep your secrets now
You can't keep my volume down

I'm a buzzkill, gonna kill your high
'Cause I'm pissed off, I think you'd know why
And you're scared now, 'cause receipts don't lie
Ever since you, ever since you

Fucked up, haven't made a sound
Got me upset, now I'm getting loud
Better watch me burn this whole place down
Ever since you, ever since you

Ever since you, ever since you...
