The Southern California band will release the record in September.
About This Track
'Third Degree' traces the architecture of an unequal attachment, one built on cycles of pull and release. Movements map the dynamic with precision: a partner who hooks deep, extracts what they need, then discards. The narrator knows this pattern from experience, has lived the other side of it more times than they care to count, yet chooses to stay anyway, willing to be used if it means proximity. The song's central image is one of controlled combustion. To be someone's "third degree" is to burn, to leave scars that become material for future songs. There's a grim acceptance in that trade-off: the pain becomes the work, the wound becomes the record. Movements hold the tension without resolution, letting the chorus loop and repeat until the distinction between desire and self-destruction blurs entirely.
"Third Degree" is a track by Movements, released 19th October 2017. The track is 3:46 long. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 3 articles about Movements.
