About This Track

‘Never’ by MUNA is an alternative track from the album ‘Saves The World’ (2019). The lyrics come off bruised and decisive, with the speaker rejecting romance after feeling done in, treating love as a situation they have opted out of, and landing on a repeated refusal. A key line of the song’s stance is “Consider this my resignation”, as the narrator frames the end of a relationship as an announcement and a final message.

"Never" is a track by MUNA, from the album Saves The World, released 5th September 2019. The track is 4:04 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about MUNA.

Lyrics

Never

I don't know if I like love
I think I've had enough
Seems like it's alright for some
It's just I'm not one
Consider this my resignation
Please, consider this an end
And deliver this recitation
To the one who did me in

I'll never love again
I'll never love again
I'll never love again
I'll never love again

I don't know if I like songs
I think maybe I was wrong
To think I could make it hurt less
With a chorus sing-along
Consider this, 'cause this is it
As a kind of requiem
And deliver this last performance
To the source from which it stems

I'll never sing again
I'll never sing again
I'll never sing again
I'll never sing again

How Katie Gavin’s ‘What A Relief’ connects MUNA’s pop to ‘Lilith Fair-core’ songwriting

Katie Gavin’s solo debut narrows MUNA’s direct emotional songwriting into a more acoustic, intimate set of songs about desire, attachment and the work of staying connected.
