'Execution Commentary' by Muse is a 2001 song with a chaotic, screaming vocal delivery and lyrics that dwell on the desire to die, a self-described state of being horrible, and a barrage of exclamations. The wording also mixes in sounds and cries, giving it the feel of a grim, distorted commentary rather than a narrative. One moment it comes on like panic, the next like bitter swagger, all held together by repetition and breathless outbursts. The sheer theatricality of the performance makes the subject matter feel deliberately abrasive.
"Execution Commentary" is a track by Muse, released 5th March 2001. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 19 articles about Muse.
