The band’s fourth Like A Version appearance also featured ‘Giving Up Air’ from their recent album, ‘Sungazer’.
About This Track
The lead single from Muse's fifth studio album, released in August 2009 and written by Matt Bellamy. Produced by the band and mixed by Spike Stent, the track reached number 37 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Bellamy described it as a protest song about the banking situation, and the lyric adopts the voice of collective defiance against institutional control. The chorus insists 'they will not force us', building a rallying cry over what one magazine characterised as an electro-glam stomp with echoes of Marilyn Manson's industrial sheen. The title and theme anchor the opening stretch of 'The Resistance', an album preoccupied with resistance and uprising as twin gestures. Muse performed the song at the 2011 Grammy Awards, introduced by Lenny Kravitz, staging a performance with an anarchy theme that nodded to recent uprisings in Egypt.
"Uprising" is a single by Muse, from the album The Resistance, released 9th September 2009. The track is 5:03 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Muse.
