Lyrics

Safe

[Verse 1]

You said it’s so easy

To fall, to yearn

Not sure what you see in me

Said it's a lovely

Thought, hope

A wonderful possibility

Said we could go there

Run, play

There’s so much to share

God it’s so unfair

Waiting, wishing

For them to answer my prayer

[Chorus]

Just when I thought it was safe

My heart finds a new way to break

Just thought when I thought I'd be fine

You sneak back into my mind

[Verse 2]

No compass, no raft

Adrift, astray

No way of going back

Gasping for air

Stranded, drowning

Basking in despair

You could throw me a line

And you do

You show you care, every time

And that's why it hurts

Whining, pining

Won't you lift this curse?

[Chorus]

Just when I thought it was safe

My heart finds a new way to break

Just when I thought I'd be fine

You sneak back into my mind

[Bridge]

Just when I thought it was safe

Just when I thought it was safe

Just when I thought it was safe

Just when I thought it was safe

[Chorus]

My heart finds a new way to break

Just when I thought I'd be fine

You sneak back into my mind

My heart finds a new way to break

Just when I thought I'd be fine

You sneak back into my mind

Oh, oh
