About This Track

Oh Wonder sketch a portrait of ambition stalled by circumstance. The narrator has made a home in a basement, sustained by the idea of escape, yet finds themselves caught in a cycle of setback and stagnation. Money disappears, the city glows while they sink, and the weight of gravity keeps them from feeling anything like triumph. It's a song about the gap between intention and arrival. But there's defiance in the refrain. Against the accumulating small failures, a counterforce emerges: the determination to reach someone, to build something together, to scrape the skies with fingertips and claim this as the life they were born for. The paper plane is fragile, the gesture almost absurd, yet it carries the whole emotional weight of the track. Plans become not a practical blueprint but an act of faith, a way of insisting that forward motion is still possible even when the evidence suggests otherwise.
