About This Track
'Red' by Pale Waves is an alternative track from the album 'My Mind Makes Noises' (2018). The lyrics cast a tense, intimate conversation between two people, with the speaker repeatedly asking what the other feels, insisting they have tried to move on, and returning to a vivid hotel meeting over drinks. There is a slightly obsessive turn to the memory of that night, ending on a detail that feels both personal and possessive, with the line, ‘I know red's your favourite’.
