About This Track

'Funsize' by Pixx is an alternative track from the album 'Small Mercies', released in 2019. The lyrics set a claustrophobic scene of being pushed into place, forced to perform ordinary rituals, and noticing time go awry, with the singer feeling warm while recognising a sense of pressure underneath. The perspective turns toward isolation in an old house as other people start to move, leaving the narrator alone with the feeling that things are not quite as they should be. One of its sharper images is the line, “I think the fire is burning underneath”.
