About This Track

'Oxygen Feed' by Preoccupations is taken from the 2013 EP 'Cassette [EP]'. The lyrics lean on body-and-device imagery, with “tubes” pumping from an oxygen feed, a low signal fire, and a clock radio that frames the scene. Elsewhere, the narrator voices a limited form of proximity, saying they can only see someone where they are, and carry them so far. The chorus turns measured and unsettling, with slow ebb and flow and a plea to move forward carefully when the sun’s in your eyes.
