Lyrics

Back Row

I chased a stranger down the street last night
Thinking that it was you
But when I caught them at the traffic light
It looked nothing like you at all
And I wonder if you moved back East
Are you still working for the campaign?
I guess you wouldn't be around here
But then again you're known to reappear

I remember the letter
You left beneath my door
I tried to write you back I spent two days
Crying on my bedroom floor

We got tangled up and turned around
I got your hopes up then I went back and let you down
Maybe we were just another mistake
But you were one that I had to make

You showed up to the party
Just to see me with someone new
And as he kissed my neck
I felt you across the room
You still came to my show
And you stood there in the back row
And I kept my eyes on you just to
Prove that I was sorry

I tried to tell you
How much you meant to me
But you wouldn't let me in
You said "what the fuck does that even mean?"

We got tangled up and turned around
I got your hopes up then I went back and let you down
Maybe we were just another mistake
But you were one that I had to make

Tangled up and turned around
Tangled up and turned around
Tangled up and turned around
Tangled up and turned around
