About This Track

'Tricky Tricky' by Röyksopp is a 2009 electronic track from the album 'Junior'. The lyrics play with numbers and escalating unease, moving from a heady, counting rhythm to a sense of fixation, repetition and near-collapse, with the refrain-like punch of “tricky tricky”. Alongside the sense of being trapped indoors and running in circles, the words also flirt with a mock-scientific, slightly teasing logic, as if naming and pocketing something unruly, then picking it up again.

"Tricky Tricky" is a single by Röyksopp, from the album Junior, released 18th March 2009. The track is 5:59 long. It's filed under Electronic. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 2 articles about Röyksopp.

Lyrics

Tricky Tricky

Is six afraid of seven, 'cause seven eight nine?
I'm about to lose it a second time
Staring at the wall, hour after hour
Running up and down, over and over

It's so tricky tricky, this little one, too
Well, if it is a lunatic, we'll name it after you
Put it in your pocket and pick it up
We're here to entertain, show them what you got

Six afraid of seven, 'cause seven eight nine
I'm afraid of losing the places I find
If I was made equal, is this what I get
A bunch of stories to interpret?

I'm ready to rocket like rock and roll
You are the flower in glittering gold
Sleeping in the palm, the palm of my hand
They show you who to follow, it looks like a man

Is six afraid of seven, 'cause seven eight nine?
I'm about to lose it a second time
Staring at the wall, hour after hour
Running up and down, over and over

Be ready to rocket like rock and roll
You are the flower in glittering gold
Sleeping in the palm, the palm of my hand
They show you who to follow, it looks like a man

It's so tricky tricky, this little one, too
Well, if it is a lunatic, we'll name it after you
Put it in your pocket and pick it up
We're here to entertain, show them what you got

I'm ready to rocket like rock and roll
You are the flower in glittering gold
Sleeping in the palm, the palm of my hand
They show you who to follow, it looks like a man

It looks like a man
