About This Track

'Too Fast', from Sonder's 'Into' EP, adopts the voice of someone living at velocity, driven by impatience, mortality, and a refusal to wait. The refrain answers external judgement with defiance: there is no such thing as too fast when you have little time and less to lose. Sonder frame the urgency as both reckless and rational, a response to being 'down and out for too long'. The verses sketch a life lived in the shadow of an early end, the narrator aware that death might arrive by morning or tomorrow. The bridge repeats the speed-of-light metaphor; the outro pivots to abandonment, pride, and the hope that someone who went missing when needed is hurting in turn. Production comes from Dpat and Atu, the track one of the most-visited on the EP.
