Steve Lacy has teamed up with SZA on new single 'is it cool?'

About This Track
'2AM' appeared on the deluxe edition of SZA's debut album 'Ctrl', released in June 2022. The track had circulated in fan communities for years before its official inclusion alongside six other bonus songs that expanded the original 2017 release. The song maps the late-night pull of a lopsided arrangement. SZA adopts the voice of someone caught in a cycle of availability, waiting for a partner who never reciprocates the effort, the chorus a litany of unanswered invitations. The verses move from vivid recall to mounting frustration, the narrator recognising the asymmetry but unable to break the pattern until the second half sharpens into clarity about wasted time and misplaced trust. The production holds steady whilst the perspective shifts from desire to resignation, the outro circling back to the same two-in-the-morning compulsion that opened the track.
"2AM" is a track by SZA, from the album Ctrl (Deluxe), released 18th May 2016. It's filed under R&B/Soul. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about SZA.

'Middle of Nowhere' arrives on 1st May through Lost Highway Records.

There’s a pop dungeon where artists live, sometimes for years, where they say, “it’s coming!” about an album that’s in the works (ahem, Rihanna, ahem, Sky Ferreira). SZA did a stint down there after releasing her cult and critical fave debut ‘Ctrl’ in 2017.
A great leap forward from now indisputable pop superstar.

The clip follows SZA as she exacts her revenge on her ex-boyfriend.

A 20 second clip appears to be heavily influenced by the Quentin Tarantino film of the same name.
