Strange illusions that come and fade

Like April days and razor blades

Came so fast and now they're gone again

Wreath their way into my dreams

Like patterns in a tapestry

The burning towers, the steeple chase

The girl that smiles without a face

So farewell to ships upon the waves

And these strange illusions that I can't replace

The winding street down to the sea

A vision of a locust tree
