Lyrics
[Intro] "I played this song for somebody, um... a few years ago. Played the piano all my life and, um, I just stopped playing one day. I couldn't play anymore. And, um, why? That's... we'll go out to dinner, talk about it. But, um, anyway, so, I stopped playing and this is one of the first songs I wrote to play again and, um, I played it for a record man. And, uh, he said, 'If you play this song, you have no career.' So I'm playing it." [Verse 1] Look, I'm standing naked before you Don't you want more than my sex? I can scream as loud as your last one But I can't claim innocence [Chorus] Oh God, could it be the weather? Oh God, why am I here? If love isn't forever And it's not the weather Hand me my leather [Verse 2] I could just pretend that you love me The night would lose all sense of fear But why do I need you to love me When you can't hold what I hold dear? [Chorus] Oh God, could it be the weather? Oh God, why am I here? If love isn't forever And it's not the weather Hand me my leather [Interlude] [Verse 3] I almost ran over an angel He had a nice big fat cigar "In a sense," he said, "you're alone here So if you jump, you best jump far" [Chorus] Oh God, could it be the weather? Oh God, why am I here? If love isn't forever And it's not the weather Ah, oh God, could it be the weather? Oh God, it's all very clear If love isn't forever And it's not the weather Hand me my leather
