The lyrics place two people in a close, mutual moment, with synchronized eye-closing and a vivid image of blue and purple light reflecting back into their eyes. The scene lingers on movement and atmosphere, from hair swaying back and forth to wind between them, before the narrator lands on a wanting, captivated feeling. One line captures the back-and-forth intimacy: “back and forth”.

Lyrics

Mimi

You close your eyes
And I close mine
You close your eyes
And I close mine

Glares of blue and purple lights
Reflecting back into your eyes
And your hair, it sways back and forth (back and forth)

The wind in between us elevates
Beneath your neck that captivates
And leaves me wanting more (wanting more)

You've closed your eyes
And I've closed mine
You've closed your eyes
And I close mine

Carried away at dawn
Whеn I lose my train of thought
I go someplace whеre you and I (you and I)

Exist between asleep and awake
Enamored by your sunscape
Defying bounds we never tried (we never tried)
You've closed your eyes
And I close mine
You've closed your eyes
And I close mine
