Cardinals have dropped new single 'Big Empty Heart' ahead of their Fontaines D.C. support slot
Cork band Cardinals release new love song 'Big Empty Heart' ahead of supporting Fontaines D.C. at Finsbury Park in July.

Cardinals have shared their first new material of 2025 with new single 'Big Empty Heart', alongside announcing a run of UK headline tour dates for September.
The Cork five-piece recorded the new track with producer Shrink at RAK Studios. Speaking about the single, frontman Euan Manning explains: "Big Empty Heart is a love song written from beyond the grave. It is a waltz as waltzes are the most romantic kinds of songs. Oskar wrote the main melody on a Korg synthesiser when he was 12 and the song is built around that."
The release follows their 2024 single 'Get It' and their debut EP on So Young Records. The band are set to support Fontaines D.C. at their Finsbury Park show on 5th July, following support from Grian Chatten who called Cardinals "one of my favourite new bands" during a BBC Radio 1 interview.
