Stand Atlantic have broken their “curse” of avoiding love songs on new single ‘Velcro’'

The Australian four-piece head into a 'lovergirl era' on their latest offering.

Stand Atlantic have returned with a new single called ‘Velcro’, marking what the band describe as a fresh creative chapter.
Released via Virgin Music Group, the track debuted as a First Play on triple j Breakfast earlier today and arrives alongside a video filmed inside Sydney’s Young Henrys brewery.
Built around themes of emotional vulnerability and magnetic attraction, ‘Velcro’ sees the Australian quartet lean further into melody while keeping the punchy energy that’s defined much of their catalogue to date.
Frontwoman Bonnie Fraser says: “I’ve spent 10 years avoiding love songs and writing only about what ended in heartbreak. On ‘Velcro’, that curse is finally broken. It’s the most honest thing I’ve written in a long time - after a really intense period of writer’s block, so recording it live, raw and unfiltered felt like the only way to do it. The curse is officially broken, the gates are open, our lovergirl era is on, and ‘Velcro’ says you’re welcome.”
The single lands ahead of a busy touring run for the band that includes Slam Dunk Festival appearances across the UK and Europe, dates on the revived Vans Warped Tour, and UK arena shows supporting Simple Plan later this year.
