
Julius Dubose, born December 6, 1995, is an American rapper and singer known professionally as A Boogie wit da Hoodie. He released his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist, in 2017 through Atlantic Records. The album included the Billboard Hot 100-top 20 single "Drowning" featuring Kodak Black and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. His second album, Hoodie SZN, released in 2018, reached the top of the Billboard 200. His third album, Artist 2.0, released in 2020, peaked at number two on the chart. Both albums featured singles that charted in the top 20, including "Look Back at It" and "Numbers," which featured Roddy Ricch, Gunna, and London on da Track. Dubose was nominated for Best New Artist at the BET Awards in 2018. His fourth album, Me vs. Myself, released in 2022, peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 and received positive reviews. His fifth album, Better Off Alone, received continued praise despite not achieving commercial success. The stage name A Boogie wit da Hoodie is derived from the character "Ace Boogie" from the 2002 film Paid in Full, and was also influenced by his habit of wearing hoodies, which led friends to nickname him "A Boogie wit da Hoodie."
