The Great Escape has drafted in Angine de Poitrine to headline its beach party after The Kooks pull out
The Québec duo step in after The Kooks withdraw due to injury.

Angine de Poitrine is a Canadian rock duo formed in the Chicoutimi borough of Saguenay, Quebec, in 2019. The band consists of anonymous musicians performing under pseudonyms, with guitarist Khn de Poitrine and drummer Klek de Poitrine. They are known for their complex, microtonal compositions and their public image, which features oversized papier-mâché masks and black-and-white polka-dotted costumes. The project was initially conceived as a disguise to perform across multiple sets at a local venue, but it became the duo's primary focus. Their debut album, Vol. 1, was released in 2024. The band gained recognition on the Quebec festival circuit and won the Artist of the Year award at the 2025 GAMIQ awards. In February 2026, a live session recorded for KEXP went viral, accumulating millions of views. This exposure preceded the release of their second album, Vol. II, in 2026, and an international tour.
