Cameron Picton's post-black midi group share Japan-shot clip and reveal venue upgrades.

Black Midi is an English experimental rock band formed in London in 2017. The band’s most recent lineup included lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Geordie Greep and Cameron Picton, along with drummer Morgan Simpson. Between 2017 and 2021, guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin was also part of the group. Following his departure, the band was often joined by session musicians Seth Evans and Kaidi Akinnibi, who played multi-instrumental roles and performed during live shows. The band’s name is derived from the Japanese electronic music genre black MIDI, though their music does not have an obvious connection to it; instead, their style incorporates elements of math rock, progressive rock, post-punk, and avant-jazz. Black Midi originated on producer Dan Carey’s record label Speedy Wunderground, releasing their debut single 'bmbmbm' in 2018. Their debut studio album, Schlagenheim, produced by Carey, was released on 21 June 2019 through Rough Trade Records. The album received critical acclaim, entered the top 50 of the UK Albums Chart, and was nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize. They also released an anthology album titled The Black Midi Anthology Vol. which includes recorded jams and spoken-word tracks.
