Chinchilla is a heavy metal band from Germany. The band was founded by guitarist Udo Gerstenmeyer in 1988 and released an EP titled No Mercy in 1990. The original lineup disbanded shortly after the EP's release. Gerstenmeyer reformed the band in 1994 and released a second EP. The band released a full-length album in 1998 and subsequently signed with Metal Blade Records, releasing several albums. Throughout its history, Chinchilla experienced multiple line-up changes.
