Cosmic Psychos are an Australian punk rock band that formed in 1982 under the name Spring Plains. The band's initial lineup included Ross Knight on bass guitar and vocals, Peter Jones on guitar, and Bill Walsh on drums. After Peter Morrow's departure in late 1984, the group was renamed Cosmic Psychos. They released their debut album, Down on the Farm, in December 1985. The band has issued several albums and has toured extensively in Australia, Europe, and North America, performing at festivals with bands such as Mudhoney, Nirvana, L7, Helmet, and Motörhead. In 1990, Peter Jones was replaced by Robbie Watts on guitar. By 2005, Bill Walsh was replaced by Dean Muller on drums. Robbie Watts died of a drug overdose on 1 July 2006 at age 47, and the band continued with John McKeering joining as a drummer.
