
Gogol Bordello is an American punk rock band formed in 1999 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The band was established by musicians from various countries. Their music incorporates elements of Romani and Ukrainian music, combined with punk and dub influences. The band features instruments such as accordion, violin, and on some albums, saxophone. Gogol Bordello has performed extensively and is known for theatrical stage shows. The band appeared in the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, with lead singer Eugene Hütz co-starring alongside Elijah Wood. They performed a set that included the "Star-Spangled Banner" and the Yiddish song Bublitschki, and contributed the song 'Start Wearing Purple' to the film's score. The band is the subject of the 2008 documentary Gogol Bordello Non-Stop. They also recorded the song 'Let's Get Crazy' for Coca-Cola's Euro 2012 advertising campaign.
