
Hannah Mary Peel, born on 27 August 1982, is a British composer, producer, and broadcaster. Her solo music is primarily electronic and synthesiser-based, often incorporating classical scoring and sound design. Her work explores the connections between science, nature, and music. Peel has scored music for television, film, theatre, and dance, including the Emmy-nominated score for the documentary Game of Thrones: The Last Watch and the British science fiction series The Midwich Cuckoos, which won her an Ivor Novello award in 2023. She releases her solo records on her own imprint, My Own Pleasure Records, including the Mercury Music Prize-nominated albums Fir Wave (2021), Awake But Always Dreaming, and Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia. Peel has been a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 3's Night Tracks since 2019. In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated on projects such as orchestrations and conducting for Paul Weller, an album for the British Paraorchestra, and an album with poet Will Burns. She is also a member of the bands The Magnetic North and John Foxx and the Maths.
