

Hans Florian Zimmer, born on 12 September 1957, is a German film composer and music producer. He has received numerous awards, including two Academy Awards for Best Original Score for The Lion King (1994) and Dune (2021). His accolades also include a BAFTA Award, three Golden Globe Awards, five Grammy Awards, and seven Emmy Award nominations. Zimmer was named one of the Top 100 Living Geniuses by The Daily Telegraph in 2007. His work is characterized by the integration of electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. Since the 1980s, he has composed music for over 150 films. Notable film scores include Gladiator (2000), Black Hawk Down (2001), The Last Samurai (2003), the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2006–2011), The Dark Knight trilogy (2005–2012), Inception (2010), Man of Steel (2013), Interstellar (2014), Dunkirk (2017), No Time to Die (2021), the Dune series (2021–), and F1 (2025). Zimmer spent the early part of his career in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States.
