The Ziggo Dome is a purpose-built indoor arena in Amsterdam, opened in June 2012 in the Bijlmermeer district beside the Johan Cruijff ArenA. With a capacity of around 17,000, it was conceived as the city's flagship room for the kind of touring production that needs scale rather than intimacy, and it duly became one of the busiest concert venues anywhere, sitting among the world's top handful by the late 2010s. It is, in short, the box where Amsterdam puts the very biggest names. The pedigree reads like a list of acts who have outgrown everywhere smaller.
